We cleared the table and out came the puddings. There were chocolate balls, fresh fruit, brownies, and the ultimate Aussie showstopper, a fresh fruit pavlova. Once we were all completely stuffed, talk turned to heading to be beach. We swiftly packed up the whole set up (12 hands make light work) and strolled down to St. Kilda beach, which was heaving!! The beach and sea was full of big groups of friends hanging out in the evening sun. The smell of BBQs hung in the air, and the smell of Brits burning as they'd long since forgotten to reapply sun cream on their pasty skin. Loads of people were wearing Santa hats with their beach wear, and we definitely saw at least one drunk chap who'd cast aside his swim shorts to show off his Christmas ball balls.

With the light dying and all of us well and truly inebriated by this point it seemed time to call it a day and head home to sleep off the huge amounts of food and alcohol we had consumed. We went via the van to drop things off and collect our 'walking home brownie and tinnie'. We spoke again to the Shine family who were preparing the turkey and stuffing balls back in Barnt Green. On the walk home we called Mr. Dan Kinchin and talked about his plans to come and visit us around Easter time. Home at last, we curled up and fell asleep.
